The research project “Performances of Indigenous Feminism: Social agency of Indigenous Women on the Rio Negro” intends to understand how indigenous women from the community of Balaio, on the Upper Rio Negro of the Amazon Basin, influenced by the growing feminist political movement of indigenous women in Brazil, has changed their role in rituals and in everyday life and in performance their gender roles. One part of the project aims to produce with these women, in a creative workshop, a fiction film where they will be able to address effective changes in their local practices and their dreams for the next generations.
