For over 20 years, the Archaeological Theory of South America Meeting (TAAS) has continued to reflect upon the situation and projection, along with the sociopolitical and territorial implications, of archaeological theory and practice in Latin America. During the former nine meetings, it has brought together academic scholars, students, indigenous and local communities; interacting as active and engaged participants of this conference. The main objective of the conference is to contribute with elements of dialogue focused on the transformation of social dynamics in order to construct alternatives applicable to a critical archaeological theory with, and from, a Latin American perspective.
