Briody, Dr. Elizabeth, Cultural Keys LLC, Troy, Michigan, USA – To build capacity in anthropology through “Anthropologists on the Public Stage: A Training Program”

ELIZABETH BRIODY, ADAM GAMWELL, PHIL SURLES, DAWN LEHMAN, and JO AIKEN were awarded a Global Initiatives Grant in July 2020 to aid collaboration on “Anthropologists on the Public Stage.” This training program is designed to educate anthropologists and anthropology students on interacting effectively with the media and public policy and beyond. The program is composed of six free video modules and accompanying exercises which trainees use to craft their own ideas relevant to specific audiences. It includes: Develop an Idea Worth Sharing (09:25); Connect with the Media (12:52); Tell a Great Story (13:52); Influence Policy Development (14:12); Increase Public Awareness (22:36); and Promote Yourself and Anthropology (14:03).
