Proposal Writing for the Wenner-Gren Foundation: Hunt Fellowship in Public Writing
The following webinar was recorded on August 25, 2026.
Anthropologists have important stories to tell, but writing books for readers beyond the academy requires time, resources, and a clear understanding of audience and purpose. The Hunt Fellowship in Public Writing supports scholars completing serious nonfiction books grounded in anthropological research and intended for general audiences.
Danilyn Rutherford, the Wenner-Gren Foundation’s president, and the Wenner-Gren staff, offer an introduction to the new fellowship. They discuss the program’s goals, eligibility requirements, two-stage application process, and evaluation criteria, and offer guidance on preparing a strong application.
