The Virtual Conference for Women Archaeologists and Palaeontologists (VCWAP) is a free annual international interdisciplinary event that unites women Early Career Researchers (ECR) in these disciplines. Both Archaeology and Palaeontology share methodologies and paradigms and contribute to the understanding of past species and the environments in which they lived and evolved. Since its first edition in 2021, VCWAP unites ECRs working both on similar topics or using similar methodologies to solve different problems. Conferences are an important means to network and present new research results. However, face-to-face events exclude those without the resources to cover sometimes large fees, travel and accommodation. Furthermore, the Covid crisis exposed social and gender inequalities, particularly among women researchers whose productivity was especially affected when compared to their male counterparts during the same period. The 3rd VCWAP has the same objective as the previous editions: to gather young women ECR from all over the world in an online setting and allow them to present and discuss recent developments and contributions. Yet, the event is open to anyone interested in participating in the discussion, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, country of origin or professional experience.
