The inaugural meeting at Burg Wartenstein, this symposium brought together 14 scholars to discuss the goals, concerns, and logistics involved with establishing an international journal of general anthropology. Following up on the discussions and publications that arose from the first "International Symposium on Anthropology," this symposium established the development plan for what would eventually become Current Anthropology.
